Thu 03 Jul | Norwich
This summer, Romania-based Moldovan-Bulgarian poet Lena Chilari makes her UK stage debut at the 8th edition of the European Poetry Festival.

Lena Chilari, a Romania-based Moldovan-Bulgarian spoken word artist and performer, took to the stage in Norwich and Liverpool, for this year’s European Poetry Festival (EPF), delivering powerful bilingual performances in front of full-house audiences.
At the beautiful Dragon Hall in Norwich, Lena was one of 18 international and British poets to share the stage, performing alongside Cat Woodward in an evening spanning languages, literatures and the European continent.
“may you leave the dragons tangled up/ in their drunken tongues / of drunken systems with lost socks/ it’s hard to be an adult in the house in which you’re a child" - Lena Chilari’s concluding lines as part of her Norwich performance in the EPF the UK's vibrant celebration of cross-border creativity and poetic innovation.
Lena Chilari’s participation in the 2025 European Poetry Festival was supported by the Romanian Cultural Institute, in partnership with the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in London/ BCI London.
