Aplauze pentru poet... pe scenă

Last weekend, together with the Embassy of Romania in the UK/ Ambasada României în Regatul Unit al Marii Britanii şi Irlandei de Nord and the Consulate General of Romania in London/ Consulatul General al României la Londra, we welcomed members of the Romanian diaspora at the Romanian Cultural Institute in London for “A Hand for the Poet…on Stage” (Aplauze pentru poet pe scenă), a moving performance that brought to life the works of some of Romania’s most beloved poets across the ages.

Through the artistry of beloved actress Emilia Popescu and pianist Cătălin Răducanu, poetry and music came together in a captivating dialogue, enriched by archival appearances from some of the most celebrated voices of the Romanian stage.

For many Romanians living abroad, the event was more than a cultural performance; it was a symbolic return to their roots through memory, language and shared heritage.

We were delighted to host this special celebration of Romanian culture and to welcome members of our community for an evening that highlighted the enduring power of poetry to connect, inspire and bring people together.

Produced by The Culture Club Cultural Association, the project is funded by the Department for Romanians Abroad/ Departamentul pentru Românii de Pretutindeni and aims to promote Romanian culture by strengthening the connection between the Romanian diaspora and the nation's cultural heritage.
