✨ A historic night. An unforgettable debut. ✨
A huge success for Alexandra Dariescu at the Royal Albert Hall last night! 🇷🇴✨
Alexandra shone on stage as she became the first Romanian woman pianist ever to perform at the prestigious BBC Proms.
Performing with the Hallé Orchestra under the baton of Kahchun Wong, she captivated a packed audience and received standing ovations, being called back on stage several times before offering a beautiful encore. Romania's Ambassador to the United Kingdom HE Laura Popescu, our Director Aura Woodward, alongside many members of our community in the UK, were all in the audience to support Alexandra.
A historic milestone for Romanian music on one of the world’s greatest classical stages.
The official photographs from Alexandra Dariescu's extraordinary BBC Proms debut capture a moment that will forever be part of musical history.
Alexandra has become the first Romanian female pianist ever to perform at the BBC Proms, marking this milestone with the Proms premiere of Nadia Boulanger's 'Fantasy for Piano and Orchestra', alongside the Hallé Orchestra.
Words can hardly capture the magic of the evening. It was inspiring, emotional, and truly unforgettable.
We were immensely proud of Alexandra on this landmark achievement and thrilled to celebrate this defining moment for Romanian artistry on one of the world's greatest stages.
