in Concert for the National Day of Romania
An incredible evening of music from Teodora Brody's album "Rhapsody"
Sat 30 Nov | LSO St Luke's, Jerwood Hall

To mark Romania’s special day, Romanian Cultural Institute in London presented “RHAPSODY”, an incredible evening of music featuring Romanian visionary jazz singer Teodora Brody and the acclaimed London Symphony Orchestra. The concert was held at LSO St Luke’s in front of a full house.
Conducted by Robert Ziegler, London Symphony Orchestra and Teodora Brody brough an entirely new perspective on the music of #Enescu, Bach, Bartók, Beethoven and Pachelbel by fusing the worlds of classical music and jazz. With elemental powers of expression and an incredible four-octave vocal range, Teodora’s astonishing instrument is a force of nature. Teodora’s performance last night is unforgettable as she left audiences mesmerized by her artistry.
The concert was introduced by Aura Woodward, the Director of Romanian Cultural Institute in London, who talked about Romania's cultural heritage and the significance of 1 December 1918, when Romanians achieved their dream of uniting all provinces inhabited by a majority Romanian population. In a moving moment, Teodora Brody later performed Romania's national anthem alongside the Romanians in the audience.
We welcomed in the audience HE Laura Popescu, Romania's Ambassador in the United Kingdom. The concert was presented in partnership with the Romanian Embassy in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Romanian General Consulate in London.
