Preview Recital of Salbek Opera Festival and Masterclass in the Enescu Concerts Series

✨ A wonderful evening celebrating music, talent, and the growing British–Romanian cultural connection!

Last week, the Romanian Cultural Institute in London hosted a special event within the Enescu Concerts Series, shining a spotlight on the International Salbek Opera Masterclass and Festival - a young and charming Romanian festival whose 4th edition will take place this year, between 18 - 23 August.

The evening opened with welcoming remarks by RCI London deputy director Raluca Ioana Cimpoiasu, and began with a short documentary about the 2025 edition of the festival. Insightful introductions by Ana Maria Mihăescu, President of the Salbek Castle Association, and musicologist Oltea Șerban-Pârâu sparked the audience’s curiosity and inspired a genuine desire to discover this unique operatic event.

🎶The highlight of the evening was a wonderful recital by soprano Rodica Ștefan and tenor Adrian Petre, accompanied on the piano by Ioana Maxim, perfectly capturing the artistic vision and international energy that define the Salbek Festival. With a vibrant repertoire of compositions masterfully performed in English, Romanian, Italian and German, the musicians drew enthusiastic rounds of applauses from a numerous audience.
