George Enescu International Competition Preview in the Enescu Concerts Series

Delighted to reunite with Artexim, organiser of the George Enescu International Festival and Competition, for our May recital in the Enescu Concerts Series. The event celebrated last Thursday the upcoming 20th edition of the George Enescu Competition taking place in Bucharest this autumn.

The evening opened with a welcome address by RCI London Director Aura Woodward, followed by a conversation between Cristina Uruc, Executive Director of the George Enescu Competition, and journalist and music critic Peter Quantrill, exploring the story and international impact of the Competition, while extending an invitation to young musicians to take part in this year’s edition.

We were then treated to an inspiring recital by violinist Maria Marica and pianist Gabriel Gîțan, who brought to the Enescu Concerts Series a beautifully crafted programme featuring works by Johannes Brahms, Ernest Chausson and George Enescu.
