Showcasing European talent
The European Parliament Liaison Office in the UK, in partnership with the Delegation of the European Union to the UK, EUNIC London, embassies and civil society organisations, has invited European citizens living in the UK and all Europeans at heart to celebrate this special day together as part of the European family.
Inspired by the Europe Day festivals in Brussels and Strasbourg, we wanted to bring European partners and citizens living in the UK - the European family - together for a joint celebration!
European values, including peace, democracy, and cultural unity in diversity, were at the centre of the event. Each country has been organising a stand that showcases traditional foods and drinks, as well as cultural tourism materials. Within this framework, master chef Marlena Botezatu of Entice by Marlen presents elements of Romanian conventional gastronomy and the wine industry to the audience.
Vivid and passionate violinist Adriana Cristea and pianist Mina Beldimănescu presented a Romanian classical music programme entitled Romania With Love featuring works by Constantin Dimitrescu, Mircea Chiriac, Angheluș, Grigoraș Dinicu and Ciprian Porumbescu.
Access to this joint celebration of our European family was free.
