An event in celebration of
Romania's National Culture Day

RCI London hosted an unforgettable evening revisiting the history and charm of interwar Bucharest, in celebration of Romania's National Culture Day.
✨The event featured the Private View of the "Bucharest: Moving Maps" 🎞️ exhibition, organized in partnership with the Museum of Bucharest/ Muzeul Municipiului Bucureşti - Palatul Suțu, and a heart-warming 🎵concert of Romanian interwar music featuring the iconic melodies of Jean Moscopol, Sergiu Malagamba, Ionel Fernic, and other musical legends of the time brought to us by baritone Cozmin Sime. Supported by the Romanian Embassy/ Ambasada României în Regatul Unit al Marii Britanii şi Irlandei de Nord and the General Consulate of Romania in London/ Consulatul General al României la Londra, the celebration commenced with a warm welcome from Aura Woodward, Director of RCI London, and an insightful introduction to the exhibition by Dr. Adrian Majuru, Director of the Museum of Bucharest.
Guests were treated to an enchanting concert created especially for this occasion by baritone Cozmin Sime, accompanied by guitarist Heiko Pape and pianist Giulia Glennon. A visual journey through old Bucharest followed the performance, brought to life by stunning photographs in our Brancusi Gallery.

Over the last two hundred years, Bucharest has been an actual arena of friendly confrontations between the “new” and the “old”, between the oriental city that stubbornly persisted and the modern city that struggled for a long time to take shape.
To mark 🇷🇴 Romania's National Culture Day, we are delighted to invite you to the Private View of "Bucharest: Moving Maps", a charming 🎞️photography exhibition curated by Dr. Adrian Majuru, Director of the Museum of Bucharest. Dr. Majuru will preface the exhibition with a talk about the history of our capital and the people who shaped its future.
🍷 🍰 To complete the experience, attendees enjoyed Romanian wine and delicious sweet treats from Entice by Marlen. A warm thank you to Aqua Carpatica as well.
Many thanks to our special guests and the enthusiastic audience who filled every corner of our Enescu Hall, making this celebration truly special.
