Space in Birmingham
Centrala featuring the Circular Catalysts exhibition as part of our Hybrid Landscapes programme.
With the clue being in the name Circular Catalysts is all about #collaboration. The exhibition is an initiative from Romanian Cultural Institute in London & British Council Romania and was created by UK based artists after undertaking residencies in Romania and learning from traditional craft workers, artists and the local people there.
The evening was opened by Aura Woodward the director of the Romanian Cultural Institute in London alongside our own director of Centrala Alicja Kaczmarek. The exhibition in Birmingham was curated by Centrala's very own Nicole Roman who is of Romanian decent and we were so happy to be able to share this brilliant evening with members of the Romanian community and Romanian focused organisations Pro Patrimonio & Români Uniti Din Anglia
We were all entranced by the dancing of our Hybrid Landscapes resident artist Rosamaria Kostic Cisneros who delivered to us Flamenco and Roma based dance pieces from her longer creation #OCEAN.
Rosamaria will be facilitating a run of events in February for Centrala's Hybrid Landscapes programme including: craft workshops, talks with special guests from the Roma community and film screenings.
Cicular Catalysts will run until 24 February as part of Hybrid Landscapes. Programme funding thanks to Arts Council England
Centrala is open Tuesday to Saturday 12-6pm.
