Changing Times by Sorin Zlat

Brings Back Romanian Musicians at EFG London Jazz Festival

What an electrifying night at the EFG London Jazz Festival! 🎶🎉

🎹 The Romanian Cultural Institute London was proud to present the acclaimed pianist and composer Sorin Zlat and his project Changing Times as part of the 2025 EFG London Jazz Festival. It was a dynamic performance that moved across multiple musical genres, reflecting both the universality of music and the innovative spirit of Romanian jazz. Sorin Zlat was joined by musicians who regularly perform on the stages of major jazz festivals worldwide: Mikele Montolli on bass and Andy Trim on drums.

Romanian jazz lit up the stage once again as the Sorin Zlat Trio delivered a spectacular performance of Changing Times at the stunning World Heart Beat – Embassy Gardens.

🎹 From the very first notes, pianist and composer Sorin Zlat, one of Romania’s most distinguished jazz musicians and a trailblazer on the international jazz scene, captivated the audience with his signature blend of virtuosity, storytelling and musical sensitivity. He was joined by the exceptional Mikele Montolli (bass) and Andy Trim (drums), whose synergy, improvisational finesse and rhythmic power created an unforgettable musical experience.

We were delighted to welcome such an engaged and enthusiastic audience, many of whom joined us in celebrating Romania’s return to the 🇬🇧 most prestigious jazz festival after several years of absence.

A huge thank you to the extraordinary musicians for their artistry, to World Heart Beat and our partners at EFG London Jazz Festival, and to everyone who came to share this remarkable evening with us. We are proud to continue our mission of bringing Romania’s leading artistic voices to the UK and connecting them with global stages.

Grateful thanks to Alex Coman for the stunning photos and to Inno Brezeanu for the support.
