Represents Romania at the European Writers Festival

Award-winning author Ioana Pârvulescu proudly represented Romania in the 2nd edition of the European Writers Festival organised by EUNIC London at the British Library and curated by the Director of the European Literature Network, Rosie Goldsmith.

Ioana's latest book in English translation, „Prevestirea” / "Jonah and His Daughter" (Istros Books, 2024), was discussed as part of the panel entitled "Transformation through Translation". The Romanian author was joined by Jordi Larios (Catalonia) and Simone Atangana Bekono (Netherlands). The panel was organised in partnership with English PEN and was chaired by Will Forrester, Translation and International Manager at English PEN.

We warmly thank the numerous literature lovers in the audience and all the partners without whom this vital festival could not have taken place: the European Union in the UK, the European Parliament Liaison Office in the United Kingdom, University College London, English PEN, Guardian Europe and the Times Literary Supplement.
