This past weekend, the Romanian Cultural Institute in London proudly took part in the 7th edition of 'In Short, Europe', the festival celebrating the best of European short cinema.

We were thrilled to support the screening of 'If I Float' (2024), a groundbreaking short film by rising Romanian director Bogdan Alecsandru, featured in the Breaking Boundaries strand of the festival.

The event was attended by our deputy director Raluca Ioana Cimpoiasu and by Anabela Tansanu, RCI London's film programmer, who represented the Institute and engaged with the talented filmmakers and the international audience.

Organised by EUNIC London in partnership with the EU Delegation to the UK, Regent Street Cinema, and the Westminster School of Media and Communication at the University of Westminster, this year’s edition brought together inspiring stories, bold voices, and fresh creative visions from across Europe.

The screenings were followed by a lively Q&A session with the directors, offering audiences the chance to connect directly with the filmmakers.

We’re proud to continue championing new Romanian voices in European cinema and sharing their creativity with London audiences.
