Royal Portraits in Hats – Exhibition & Pop-up Showroom

We had the pleasure of opening an exquisite millinery exhibition presented by NITA SAO, the creative identity of the talented artist Ana Istodorescu, supplier to the Royal House of Romania. 👒

The exhibition was opened by Raluca Ioana Cimpoiasu, Deputy Director of the Romanian Cultural Institute in London in London, who praised the tremendous work Ana had put into presenting both a carefully curated exhibition dedicated to historical female figures from European royal families — such as Isabella of Castile, Anne Boleyn, Catherine de’ Medici, Marie Antoinette, Queen Victoria, Empress Elisabeth of Austria (Sisi), Queen Marie of Romania, Queen Elizabeth II and, of course, Diana, Princess of Wales 👑 — and a highly successful pop-up showroom, where the 100 guests present that evening had the opportunity to try on superb hats 🎩✨

The evening continued with an artist talk by Ana Istodorescu, in which she explained in greater detail the concept behind the exhibition, entitled Royal Portraits in Hats, conceived as a contemporary reflection on European royal heritage from the 15th century to the present day 📖👒✨

🙏 Our gratitude goes to the numerous guests who attended the opening. We also thank Ambassador Laura Popescu for her presence that evening, as well as the Embassy of Romania to the United Kingdom / Ambasada României în Regatul Unit al Marii Britanii şi Irlandei de Nord and the Consulate General of Romania in London / Consulatul General al României la Londra for their support 🇷🇴🇬🇧

📍 The exhibition can be visited at the Romanian Cultural Institute until 29 May, 10am-4pm. And, as a special treat, visitors will be able to meet the designer and try on the hats.

🎟️ Admission is free and no booking is required.

📸 As always, a big thank you to Alex Coman for the wonderful photographs. ✨
