About the event
We are thrilled to open wide our doors to the children of the Romanian community in London and beyond at an event organised together with the Romanian Embassy in London at the initiative of „Povești spuse-n românește” / “Stories Told in Romanian” Association. “Salut! Do you want to be friends?” is dedicated to celebrating and promoting Romanian language and culture among children in the diaspora. During the event will be screened video essays or short films created by children, addressing themes such as solidarity, diversity, or climate challenges, providing a platform for the voice and creativity of children in the diaspora. In an open and friendly environment, the little students will have the opportunity to meet Claudia Cîrlig, the founder of the program and teachers Daniela Ciupală, Beatrice Ragea, Andreea Rentea and Izabela Manolache. On the same occasion, the readers will have the opportunity to meet and greet British-Romanian children’s books author Marina Debattisa.
So far, within „Salut! Do you want to be friends?” project took place two Romanian language communication children’s camps organised with the support of Arts Council England and The Department for the Relation with Romanians Abroad under the umbrella of „Povești spuse-n românește” / “Stories Told in Romanian” Association.
