About the event
The Romanian Cultural Institute in London is delighted to support Romanian cinematographers at Sheffield DocFest 2024. This is the most important documentary festival held in the UK, which attracts strong international participation.
The festival unfolds from 12-17 June in Sheffield and revolves around film screenings and special events, including talks, interactive and virtual reality exhibitions, live podcast events and discussions.
Romania will be represented by the short documentary Blue, written and directed by Ana Vijdea (Ro) and produced by Elena Martin (Ro). The production has been selected to participate in the international competition and will have its world premiere at the Sheffield Festival on June 13. Ana Vijdea's film offers an insight into the relationship between a mother and her two children. Rodica (40) and her children, Maria (14) and Patrick (18), are Romanian expats living in Belgium.
