About the event

We are pleased to invite you to an evening talk with bestselling author and EU Prize for Literature winner Tatiana Țîbuleac, in dialogue with Associate Professor Ramona Gönczöl and the journalist, author and publisher Paula Erizanu, alongside UK-based Romanian students Maria Popa, Ecaterina Rotaru and Cristina Bradescu.

The discussion will focus on Tatiana Țîbuleac’s novels, exploring her literature as well as the ways Moldovan, Romanian and diasporic histories and identities are reflected throughout her writing, including her latest novel, Când ești fericit, lovește primul / When You're Happy, Strike First (Cartier, 2025). Her debut novel, Vara în care mama a avut ochii verzi / The Summer My Mother Had Green Eyes, was awarded the Prize of the Writers’ Union of the Republic of Moldova (2017), the Observator cultural magazine Prize and the Observator Lyceum Prize (2018). The novel has since been published in English…
