From Romania, with Jazz: Răzvan Florescu & Vlad Briciu in Belgravia

This October, Răzvan Florescu Quartet bring the sound of contemporary Romanian jazz to London - from an intimate vibraphone & piano encounter at our Belgravian premises to their much-anticipated UK debut at the legendary Ronnie Scott’s.

The story begins at 1 Belgrave Square, where Răzvan Florescu (vibraphone) and Vlad Briciu (piano) strip the music back to its essentials. In an intimate and highly responsive dialogue, vibraphone and piano meet to create space for melody, improvisation, rhythm and atmosphere.

This special duo performance offers a close-up encounter with two of Romania’s most exciting young jazz musicians and a first taste of the full quartet energy that will take over Upstairs at Ronnie’s two days later. There, Răzvan Florescu and Vlad Briciu will be joined by British musicians Oli Fitzgerald (double bass) and Ethan Sweeting (drums). If you love jazz that surprises, moves and refuses to stand still, these are two nights you don't…
