About the event
The central event of the programme welcomes to London Tatiana Țîbuleac, one of the most internationally celebrated voices in contemporary Romanian literature. Set against the historic backdrop of the UK’s oldest bookshop, this special evening marks the English-language publication of her remarkable debut novel, The Summer My Mother Had Green Eyes, newly released in the United States by Deep Vellum.
In an intimate and thought-provoking conversation, the author will be joined by her translator, Monica Cure, and publisher Will Evans, offering audiences a rare opportunity to explore the creative journey behind the novel - from its emotional intensity and distinctive voice to the art of bringing it to English audiences. The evening will conclude with a wine reception and book signing.
